Privacy Policy

SCOBIKART TECHNOLOGIES PRIVATE LIMITED ("Scobikart", "we", "us" or "our") operates the Scobikart shopping app and website (together, the "App"), through which customers order groceries and daily essentials for delivery. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect from customers ("you"), why, how we use and share it, how long we keep it, and your rights.

By using the App you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us:

  • Mobile number (used to sign in with a one-time password), name and, optionally, email address
  • Delivery addresses, including the location pin you set and any delivery instructions
  • Orders you place, items in your cart, coupons you apply and tips you add
  • Payment method you choose. Online payments are processed by our payment partner Razorpay; we do not store your full card, UPI PIN or net-banking credentials. We keep payment references, amounts and status.
  • Scobikart wallet transactions, refunds and cashback
  • Ratings, reviews, support requests, return or replacement requests, and photos you attach to them

Information collected automatically:

  • Location: with your permission, your device location to find your address, show stores and delivery availability near you, and deliver to the right place. The App does not collect your location in the background.
  • Order and delivery activity: order status, delivery times and the delivery partner's live location while your order is on its way
  • Device and technical information: device model, operating system, app version, device identifiers, push-notification token, IP address, crash reports and app usage logs

2. App permissions and why we need them

  • Location (while using the app): to detect your delivery address and check that we deliver to you.
  • Notifications: to update you about your orders, refunds and offers (you can turn offers off).
  • Camera / photos: only when you choose to attach a photo, for example to report a problem with an order.

3. How we use your information

  • To create and manage your account and sign you in
  • To process, pack and deliver your orders, and show you live delivery tracking
  • To process payments, refunds and wallet credits
  • To provide customer support and handle returns, replacements and complaints
  • To send you order updates and, if you allow, offers and recommendations
  • To decide whether cash on delivery is available for your account, and to prevent fraud and misuse
  • To analyse and improve the App, our product range and our delivery service
  • To comply with legal, tax and regulatory obligations (for example, issuing GST invoices)

4. How we share your information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed:

  • With the store and franchise partner fulfilling your order, and with the delivery partner delivering it: your name, delivery address, location pin, delivery instructions and a contact option
  • With service providers who process data for us under contract: Razorpay (payments and refunds), cloud hosting (Amazon Web Services, servers in India), Google Firebase (push notifications and crash reporting) and Google Maps (maps and address lookup)
  • With government or law-enforcement authorities when required by law, or to protect the rights, property or safety of Scobikart, our users or the public
  • With a successor entity in the event of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, under the same protections

5. Data security

We protect your information with industry-standard measures, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), access controls, and restricted access for our staff on a need-to-know basis. No system is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and fix issues promptly.

6. Data retention

We keep your information while your account is active and as long as needed to provide our services. Order and invoice records are kept for the period required by Indian tax law. After your account is deleted we keep only what we must for legal, tax, accounting, dispute-resolution and fraud-prevention purposes, and then delete or anonymise it.

7. Your rights and choices

Subject to applicable law, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Correct or update your details (most can be changed in the App)
  • Withdraw consent, for example by turning off location or notification permissions, or opting out of offers
  • Ask us to delete your account and personal information
  • Nominate another person to exercise your rights in case of death or incapacity
  • Raise a grievance with us, and with the Data Protection Board of India if it is not resolved

8. Account deletion

You can ask us to delete your account by emailing rachna.official@scobikart.com with the subject "Delete my account" and your registered mobile number. We will delete your account and personal information within 30 days, except information we must keep by law (see section 6). Any wallet balance and open orders or refunds are settled first.

9. Children

The App is intended for adults. Users under 18 may use the App only with the involvement of a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect information from children without such consent.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page with a new effective date and, for significant changes, notify you in the App. Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the updated policy.
